I am having my surgery with the team at Lahey Hospital in Burlington,MA. Urologist is Dr. Kasabwala and plastic surgeon is Dr. Frenier. 

I had rescheduled this consult a few times out of fear that I wouldn't find a partner that found me attractive after surgery and the fear of my current partner changing the way she was attracted to me (of course that's not the case at all but the fear of the unknown was still there). After several talks with my therapist and my partner, it was decided that I at least needed to do the consult to make sure this was the right surgery for me. I met with my PCP who is also my endocrinologist as she is very knowledgeable about metoidioplasty and she went over the different kinds there are. I then was contacted by the coordinator to schedule my consult again. This was around November 2024 and I was able to get the consult date for 12/12/24.

During the consult, all surgeons were present. There were 5 in total for me. During the consult they went over the entire process and how it would be broken down into the 2 different stages. I was measured, which I am 4cm pre-op. Any questions I had were more than answered and I felt so comfortable and confident during my consult. That is also where I made the official decision to do full metoidioplasty as that is going to give me the results I am looking for. I was given a packet of things I would need to complete before being able to get a surgery date, mainly about the letters I would need and how they needed to be formatted. I was advised they were booking dates around 6 months out for stage 1 and that stage 2 would follow 6 months after stage 1. 

I turned in my letters about a week later and got my official date of May 15, 2025 around mid January after the surgeons had the chance to look at the OR schedule and make sure all surgeons were available for that date.
